In the Strait of Magellan on the southern foremost tip of South America, a group of scientists discovered around the area of Carlos III Island, the feeding site where humpback whales return every summer.

Whalesound is tourist agency with base in the Strait of Magellan, Chile, which looks forward to integrate both tourism and navigation and support science and conservation. Conformed by biologists with 15 years of experience sailing and developing scientific research in Chile, mainly in marine mammals. With the support of Corfo and the Universidad de Magallanes, we discovered the area of Carlos III Island and Whale Sound, in the Strait of Magellan - Chilean Patagonia, a feeding site for humback whales. Because of the importance of this area, Chile’s first  Marine Park was created and named Francisco Coloane. Its goal is to share with tourists the experience of navigation, nature and scientific research.
